Besides this the children can enjoy themselves in the swimming pool and on the trampolines. Spontaneous soccer, basketball or volleyball games are organized by the children. Adults prefer to play jeux de boules. Also during high season a barbecue is organized every Friday evening. This is the ideal evening to meet other camping guests and an opportunity to make new friends. The barbecue is by advance registration and will only take place if there are enough participants.

Surroundings

On the camp-site and in the surroundings there are a lot of possibilities to swim en to enjoy various water sports. Please click on the link for more information. There are hiking, (mountain)bike and running tracks that start from the camp-site. Tracks are also available in the surroundings. You can climb, ride a horse or walk with a mule in the area. You can also make a tour on a motorbike.

You can also do a tour named: "Sidobre, world of granite". Starting point is the Maison du Granit where you leave to the quarry Plô, the ‘goldmine’ like the locals call it. Explosions, drilling machines, cranes, loaders ... it's quite fascinating. This granite quarry is the largest in France.

She produces a granite with a remarkable purity and color, whereby the enterprise Plô was commissioned for the tiling of the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Then visit a workshop where the editing and cutting happens. This is the place to see impressive engines, such as the stone saw with a diamond saw blade. With a production of 150,000 tons per year the Sidobre is today’s largest French production centre of granite. It employs about 2,500 people in the industry, in more than 200 companies, of which about 50 are discreetly implanted in the scenic landscape of the Sidobre.

In the Sidobre

Le Sentier des MerveillesWalking in the Sidobre, Roc de l oie

Distance: 1,5 hours for the entire walk and 45 minutes for the short walk

The walk across the Plateau de Crémaussel.
This plateau dominates the valley of the river the l'Agoût and is called in occitaan "le puechpeyrou" (colline pierreuse=hill with stones). Here we can find the most fascinating stones in the Sidobre that continue to impress both young and old.

The meaning of Crémaussel in Occitan is; le lieu o on brûle l'oiseau = the place were we burn the bird. To create new farmlands the farmers used to burn down big lots of land. Le roc de l'oie was surrounded by fire and because he was at a high point, everyone in the surrounding had a good view on the spectacle!

La Balade des Légendes

Distance: 1 ¾ hours for the entire walk and 50 minutes for the short walk

For the "Balade des Légendes" 46 school children made drawings of the legends of the Sidobre. During the walk you will see 8 of these drawings.
In a ravine in the valley “de la Durencuse", you will find an enormous pile of big granite rocks called "le chaos de la Balme". This is one of the most impressive rock formations of the Sidobre.
The natural forms are stunning. Examples are “grotte du loup” (cave of the wolf) and “balme du béret", both near the spot where they first started handling granite stones.

We also have books named: "Les Sentiers d'Emelie dans le Tarn" at the reception. These are very nice walks you can do with your children. We can lend out these books or make a copy of the walk.
